Surroundings of Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, on the Wine Road in Tuscany

Immediately close behind the Tirrenic coast, at the feet of the metallic hills, is situated Castagneto Carducci urban district, the biggest in Livorno’ s province.

A land strip with preserved nature, works of art, genuine food and good gastronomy, workshops of ancient tastes, hospitality and traditions.

Castles, towers and country towns scattered in accordance with a defined religious organization, countries situated on the highest places from which starts a lot of meticulous cultivated fields, villas and farms, form its humane degree.

Never too hot in summer, during which usually sultry heat become milder by sea breeze, ideal climate in autumn and spring with thermal excursions that rarely are higher than 10°C, thermometer rarely fall under 5°C in winter, rainfall is more abundant in October, February and March, with cold winds like tramontana never so frequent to change mild and agreeable climate of Costa degli Etruschi, able to create real spectacles of nature, as olive-trees of Castagneto Carducci country, situated close behind the “Cypresses Road” that from San Guido brings to Bolgheri. These millennial trees have huge trunks, more than 2.5 m of diameter, and heights of 25 m.

Thanks to not very traffic streets, sweet and pleasant landscape, mild climate also in winter, it’s possible to have excursions by bicycles among the coast or towards magic atmosphere of metallic hills between Volterra and Massa Marittima, in the wild ancient soul of Maremma (we recommend to explore near Macchia della Magona).
